Antioxidant BHT can inhibit or postpone the aging and degradation of plastics or rubber to prolone the use life. 2. Antioxidant BHT can prevent acid value and viscosity of lube oil and fuel oil from increasing 3. Solubility of antiocidant BHT in ethyl alcohol is 25% (20), in bean oil is 30%(25), in cottonseed oil is 20% (25), in lard is 40% (40) 4. Antioxidant BHT is the stabilizing agent of cosmetics and medicine. The addition of antioxidant BHT is 0.01% to 2%. 5. Antioxidant BHT is the stabilizing agent of synthetic rubber(SBR, butyronitrile, polyurethanes, BR), PE, PVC. As a common phenolic antioxidant, antioxidant BHT can prevent the thermal oxidative aging of natural rubber, synthetic rubber (such as BR, SBR, butyl, isoamyl, butyronitrile, EPM, etc.), acrylate and emulsion products. It has inhibiting action on the copper toxicity and on the damage to vulcanixed rubber causing by varied climatic factors when antioxidant BHT is used with antiozonant and wax. It is easy –dispersible in rubber and can be directly mixed in rubber or mixed into latex as dispersion, and is the material for sidewall,various rubber and dairy products (white, bright colored and transparent colored), daily necessities, medical and healthy articles, rubber fabric, rubber overshoes and food. Antioxidant BHT is also the stabilizing agent for synthetic rubber’s processing and storage. 6. As food addiitive, antioxidant BHT may prevent food going bad and is used in animal oil and fat, food contain animal oil and fat. Besides, it may also bu used in pringting ink, binding agent, leather, casting, dye printing, paint andelectronic industry. 7. Antioxidation effect of antioxidant BHT, good antioxidant additive, at working temperature of 100 degree Celsius is the best. Antioxidant BHT is widely used in antioxidizing and antigum agent of turbine oil, transformer oil, hydraulic oil, conduction oil, brake oil, spindle oil, precision machinery oil and paraffin wax. In order to raise their antioxidation and prolong their use life,antioxidant BHT may be put into products directly or after made into motherliquor. Blended with long-chain alkaline ZDDP,TCP metal antirust agents, Antioxidant BHT can be used to make antiwear hydraulic oil and its dosage is usually 0.1% to 1%.Its dosage is less than 0.2g/kilo in grease, butter, fish and shellfish dried products and freezing whalemeat, etc., and is less than 0.75g/kilo in chewing gum. Added 0.005% antioxidant BHT, the lard’s spoilage time will be prolonged 4 to 5 times; added 0.01%, it will be prolonged 6 times. Its usages have infusion method, direct mixed method, the method of mixing after dissolving it in ethyl alcohol, spraying method, etc.
