2.3mm el wire is used for most general-purpose applications. It is extremely flexible.
3.2 mm el wire is also a great general-purpose wire though slightly less flexible than the 2.3. It does offer added u.v. Protection and of course a larger look.
5 mm is very durable and is well suited for outdoor applications. It does have u.v. protection and is still very flexible.
Electroluminescent (EL) wire requires an inverter also known as a driver in order to illuminate the el wire to its full brightness levels. Although the el wire can be attached directly to an ac power source, it will only obtain a very low level of brightness without the aid of an inverter.
Electroluminescent Connection
These are pre-made section with absolutely no soldering needed. Just plug them in to any of our inverters that are equipped with connector. Makes for easy interchange of colors and sizes all from the same power unit. Available below in lengths from 1-100m.
A power inverter (AC 110V/220V for long length, and DC 3V,6V,9V,12V,24V for short length) is NEEDED in order for the electroluminescent wire to work. All of our inverters are available with connector. This allows you to use any of the different styles, sizes and colors of el wire available.
1. Insulating wrap of the EL wire (single layer/double layers).
2. Electrode of the EL wire (double thin wires).
3. Electrolyte layer of the EL wire.
4. Core electrode of the EL wire.
5. Soldered joint.
6. Soldered joint.
7. Electrode which is input electrical source.
8. Electrode which is input electrical source.
9. PVC insulating contractive annulations.
10. PVC insulating contractive annulations.
11. Wrap of the double electrode which input electrical source.

JOINT STEPS:
1. First the insulating wrap of EL wire (1) must be divested.
2. Take out the electrode (2).
3. Scrape off the electrolyte layer (3) on the core electrode, in order to make the electrode appears nakedness.
4. Scrape off the wraps of electrode (7and8) which is been input electrical source, then apart the electrode in order to make the electrode appears nakedness which its length is 4mm-5mm.
5. Make the PVC contractive annulations (10) to ring the electrode(8) in order to make the nakedness part of the electrode(8) together with the nakedness part of the core electrode(4) by jointing on the soldered joint (6).
6. Make the PVC contractive annulations (10) to ring weld, then make it constringe with the halogenations gun.
7. Take out the electrode(2) to make it together with the nakedness part of electrode(7) which is been input electrical source by jointing., then put the contractive annulations into the diameter of the EL wire to make the next working process to be constringed easily.
8. Move the contractive annulations, (10) which is prior be completed in the JOINT STEP 5 to the proper position which is constringed by the gun later.
Remark: The inner aperture which it is not too big must be matched the diameter of the EL wire.
